The Koronet SUPREME 900X machine tap is a premium tool designed for precise internal threading in structural steels, alloy steels and materials that require a stable and repeatable machining process. Made of high-grade high-speed HSSE-PM (powder metallurgy) steel and equipped with an advanced AlCrN coating, it offers increased durability and significantly better wear resistance compared to standard taps coated with TiN or TiCN.
The tap is made of powder-grade high-speed steel HSSE-PM, which combines very high abrasion resistance with excellent torsional load resistance. PM technology ensures a homogeneous material structure, which translates into stable operation even in more difficult steel grades.
Advanced multi-layer coating from the AlCrN/S3p group provides:
– increased thermal resistance,
– protection against abrasion and seizure,
– limiting the phenomenon of growth,
– much longer tool life.
This allows the tap to work safely at higher parameters and in more demanding industrial applications.
The geometry of the straight grooves allows linear guidance and efficient chip evacuation in the opposite direction to the rotation of the tool. This solution is considered to be the most effective for threading through holes.
Compliance with DIN 371 means the use of a reinforced shaft that is more resistant to bending and ensures stable operation even during intensive production cycles.
The B-type cut improves tool guidance, facilitates its insertion into the material and allows for safe threading in through-holes. It is a universal geometry used both in series production and in workshops.
