The DIN 376 B HSS-E TiCN machine tap is a professional tool designed for precise ISO metric internal threads in structural steels, alloy steels and high-strength materials. Made of high-grade high-speed cobalt steel HSS-E and coated with an advanced TiCN coating, it ensures high durability, process stability and repeatable thread quality under production conditions.

HSS-E steel – increased resistance and stability of operation

The tap is made of high-speed steel with the addition of cobalt (HSS-E), which is characterized by:
– high resistance to torsional loads,
– better hardness retention at elevated temperatures,
– increased wear resistance compared to classic HSS steels.

This makes the tool suitable for longer threading cycles and materials that require stable and controlled machining.

TiCN coating – increased durability and wear resistance

The TiCN (titanium carbide) coating used is distinguished by:
– very high abrasion resistance,
– increased hardness of the working surface,
– reduced coefficient of friction,
– better work at higher cutting loads.

TiCN coating is particularly recommended for machining structural and alloy steels, where tool life and process stability are important.

Straight geometry – optimal for through-holes

Straight grooves ensure stable tap guidance and efficient chip evacuation towards the tool face. This geometry is ideal for threading through-holes, increasing process reliability and uniformity of thread profile forming.

DIN 376 standard – slim design and longer grip

Compliance with DIN 376 means a slimmer tool geometry and an elongated grip part. This makes it easier to work in deeper openings and in places with limited access, both on CNC machines and on conventional machines.

Version B – universal input phase

The B-type cut (4-5 chamfer turns) makes it easy to start threading and feed the tool stably into the material. It is the most versatile and widely used geometry for through-hole threads in steel machining.
