The Koronet SUPREME 900X machine tap is a premium tool designed for precise internal threading in structural steels, alloy steels and materials that require a stable, repeatable cutting process. Made of high-grade high-speed HSSE steel and coated with an advanced AlCrN coating, it provides increased abrasion resistance and high service life compared to tools with standard TiN or TiCN coatings.
The tap is made of HSSE high-speed steel, which combines increased wear resistance with good impact strength. This allows the tool to work stably even in materials with higher strength, minimizing the risk of cracks and loss of edge geometry.
The advanced AlCrN coating provides:
– high abrasion resistance under intense friction conditions,
– thermal stability at elevated cutting temperatures,
– reduced tendency to build up material,
– significantly longer tool life compared to TiN/TiCN coatings.
This technology makes it possible to carry out machining at higher parameters and in steel grades that offer greater resistance to machining.
The spiral grooves used allow the chip to be lifted upwards, which significantly improves the smoothness of work in malleable materials and in blind holes. This is a solution that ensures clean thread edges and a safe cutting process in materials prone to groove sealing.
The tap meets the requirements of DIN 374, which means an elongated design and a shank with a geometry that ensures good rigidity and stable guidance of the tool. This solution is suitable for machining deeper holes and applications that require an extended working range.
The SUPREME 900X tap is designed for processing:
• unalloyed and structural steels,
• alloyed and heat-treated steels,
• steel with increased strength,
• materials susceptible to chip growth.
