Remote control (ejector) for HSS and TCT pipe drill bits

The remote control (centering pin) is an element necessary for the proper operation of trepanation drills. It is responsible for the precise start of drilling, stabilizing the tool in the material and effectively removing the cut core after the operation is completed.

Function and Application:

The remote control has three key functions in the drilling process:

• Tool centering – ensures accurate drill bit alignment in the hole axis, eliminating the risk of the tool „running away” at the start
• Cooling activation – in magnetic drilling machines, opens the coolant supply directly to the cutting zone
• Core pushing out – after making a hole, removes the remaining material (the so-called „slug”) from the inside of the drill

Design and workmanship:

The remote control is made of hardened tool steel, resistant to wear and deformation when working in harsh industrial environments. The precision-ground surface ensures smooth cooperation with the drill and guide.

The tapered centering tip makes it easy to position the drill bit quickly and securely on the material, even without prior scoring.

Remote control selection:

The length of the remote control should be adjusted to the working depth of the trepanation drill:

• Remote control 6.34 × 77 mm – for drill bits with a cutting depth of 30 mm
• 6.34 × 103 mm remote control – for drill bits with a cutting depth of 55 mm

The pilot diameter of 6.34 mm corresponds to standard systems used in drills with a Weldon 19 mm (3/4″) chuck.
