Koronet ER309LSi welding wire is a solid wire designed for MIG/MAG welding, used primarily for making joints between stainless steel and carbon steel and for creating buffer (transition) layers. It is used in workshop, assembly and production works, where the durability and stability of the weld is important.

The alloy is characterized by an increased chromium and nickel content, which ensures an austenitic structure of the weld metal and good resistance to cracking. The low carbon content (L designation) reduces the risk of intergranular corrosion, while the increased silicon (Si) content improves weld pool fluidity, edge wetting and weld face quality.

ER309LSi wire is particularly recommended for joining stainless steels type 304/304L and 316/316L with structural steels, as well as for cladding the base layers before further welding with wires intended for stainless steels, e.g. type 308LSi.
