The Koronet SUPREME 900X machine tap is a premium tool designed for precise internal threading in structural steels, alloy steels and materials that require a stable, repeatable cutting process. Made of HSSE-PM powder high-speed steel and equipped with an advanced AlCrN coating, it provides significantly higher wear resistance, thermal stability and longer tool life compared to traditional TiN/TiCN coatings.
The tap is made of HSSE-PM powder high-speed steel, characterized by a homogeneous structure, high impact strength and increased resistance to torsional loads. This ensures that the tool works stably even in materials with increased strength.
The modern AlCrN-based coating offers:
– very high abrasion resistance,
– thermal stability at higher loads,
– reduction of chip growth and adhesion,
– significant extension of tool life.
This allows for higher throughput machining in more difficult steel grades, ensuring a safe and repeatable cutting process.
The spiral grooves efficiently guide the chip upwards, making this tap ideal for threading blind holes. The helical geometry minimizes the risk of chip jamming and improves tool culture with a greater thread depth.
The tap has been designed in accordance with DIN 376, which means:
– reinforced, longer handle,
– stable operation with a longer overhang,
– can be used in a wide range of chucks and machine heads.
The C-type cut makes it easy to insert the tool into the material and ensures that the thread is safely formed to the full depth in blind holes.
The SUPREME 900X tap is designed for processing:
• unalloyed and structural steels,
• alloyed and heat-treated steels,
• steel with increased strength,
• materials with a tendency to build-up.
